This notice contains official support status changes for versions of Spotfire and related products on historical and mainstream release tracks. There is no status change for the current LTS (Long Term Support) release track version.

It is important that you understand the differences in support and hotfix policy between the mainstream and LTS release tracks and the changes from historical practice so that you can understand this announcement, ensure your organization is on the most appropriate track going forward, and plan for upgrades, extended support etc. Please read and understand the following: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire/general/LTS/spotfire_LTS_releases.htm

If you are currently on version 7.10 or prior, you will need to choose either the mainstream or LTS track for your next upgrade. Please read the link above and consult with TIBCO support and/or your TIBCO Account team to help with this choice.

On December 31, 2019, TIBCO is officially ending support for version 7.10 and 7.14 of the TIBCO Spotfire product family. This includes the following products:

  • TIBCO Analytics
  • TIBCO Analytics Business Author Add-On
  • TIBCO Analytics Consumer Add-On
  • TIBCO Spotfire Automation Services
  • TIBCO Spotfire Analyst
  • TIBCO Spotfire Business Author 
  • TIBCO Spotfire Consumer
  • TIBCO Spotfire Desktop
  • TIBCO Spotfire Desktop Developer Edition
  • TIBCO Spotfire Developer
  • TIBCO Spotfire Qualification
  • TIBCO Spotfire Server
This also includes:
  • TIBCO Enterprise Runtime for R, version 4.3.1 and prior versions
  • TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services,  version 7.5  and prior versions
Note:
  • TIBCO Spotfire version 7.11 LTS is not affected by this announcement.

This action will take effect on December 31, 2019. The purpose of this notification is to officially communicate this policy and request that you upgrade, as soon as possible, to a supported release of the product. 
 
During the next 12 months, Support will answer product questions, but no new defect corrections, in the form of hotfixes or service packs, will be provided.

Cases on the releases being retired will no longer be accepted after December 31, 2019. Cases under investigation for the releases being retired will be closed as of the retirement date, December 31, 2019. 

Check the TIBCO Product Download Site (https://edelivery.tibco.com) for the most recent release when planning your upgrade. As mentioned above, as part of your upgrade planning, please make sure to determine what type of release track - LTS or mainstream - best suits your needs.

TIBCO Support Knowledge Base articles will continue to be available from the TIBCO Support Portal (https://support.tibco.com), where existing hotfixes will also continue to be available to all customers beyond the retirement date.

To ensure that you receive future retirement notices, make sure to subscribe to them in the TIBCO Support Portal, in the following way:
  1. Login to the TIBCO Support Portal (https://support.tibco.com)
  2. In the upper right corner, under the menu item with your name, select "Product Interests and Knowledge Base Subscriptions"
  3. In the Subscription section, select the TIBCO products of interest to you
  4. In the Configure Subscriptions section, select the types of notifications you want to receive.
