Spotfire Statistica | 14.0.0,14.0.1, 14.1, 14.2 |
An upgrade with this issue will have the following components:
1. Statistica 14.x installed
2. And either WebStatistica or Monitoring and Alerting Server (MAS) or both installed
If either of these Windows services exist, then the information in this knowledge base article is applicable:
1. WebStatistica
2. MASMonitoringService
Issue
When upgrading from Spotfire Statistica 14.x to 14.2, the upgrade installer, which is built into the regular installer, deletes all SWS_* group members and resets the DCOM and COM+ settings. This occurs because an upgrade to 14.2 is actually an uninstall of 14.x, which removes everything, followed by a clean install of 14.2. No files are from the previous install are actually upgraded.
OS: Windows
1. Check the DCOM and the COM+ settings and record these settings.
Please see these knowledge base articles for the WebStatistica DCOM settings to check:
For the MAS COM+ settings, see this knowledge base article: https://support.tibco.com/support-home/kbsearch/article?articleNumber=KB0135550
2. Use the attached scripts, which will mitigate the SWS_* group issue before the upgrade to 14.2. No such scripts are available for the DCOM settings.
See the ReadMe on how to use the scripts.
This article discusses the issues with performing an in-place upgrade from Statistica 14.x to 14.2 and provides help to mitigate the issues. This is only to be concerned when using WebStatistica or Monitoring and Alerting Server (MAS)
