Description

The primary BlindID cannot be changed once the matching sample has been saved (or saved and completed).  Why?

Environment

OS:  Windows

Resolution

The primary BlindID cannot be changed once the matching sample has been Saved (or "Saved and Completed").  This is because the system must associate one BlindID with the sample and the matching sample.  Prior to saving the matching sample, the BlindID can be changed.  Thus, special attention must be paid to what the BlindID value should be when creating the primary sample.

Matching Sample Saved (or Saved and Complete)

For example, the following Double Blind data entry setup, is a blind data entry setup, which requires manual approval:

The label ID is the BlindID:

Entering the primary sample ID (ID=BlindID) and clicking "Save and Complete":

Note that the ID cannot never be changed in the matching sample. Below, the number 1 is greyed out.  "Save And Complete" the matching sample:

Now when editing the primary sample, the ID cannot be changed.  Below, the number 1 is grayed out:

Matching Sample is not Saved (or "Saved amd Complete")

After creating a new primary sample, enter the matching sample information but do not Save (and do not "Save and Complete"):

Essentailly, abandon the sample completely (click the Data Entry Menu or the Data Entry Setup to back out of the matching sample):

Now the primary sample id can be changed:
