'HTTP Status 404 - File Not Found. The requested URL was not found on this server' error occurs in Web Player for Spotfire MODs

Description

When opening a report containing mods in a Spotfire Web Player, the following error message may occur: 

'HTTP Status 404 - File Not Found. The requested URL was not found on this server' 

And below error can be seen in server logs : 

wp.router.StaticResourceHttpRequestHandler: Failed to fetch the remote resource: https://****/analysisServiceStreaming/GetStaticResourceStream?resourceName=WebView/loader.js.map, error code: 404 NOT_FOUND, error message: 404 Not Found: [no body]

Resolution

This error may occur if the Spotfire server has failed to delete temporary mods files. To resolve this, clear the mods cache on the Spotfire server in the following way:

  1. On the Spotfire server(s), go to the directory that contains the currently cached static mod content files: <spotfire_server_installation_dir>\tomcat\temp\WebPlayerResources\mods\
  2. Empty the directory

After clearing cache, try opening the analysis again - it should now open successfully in the Web Player.
