Description

Java is used in a limited way with Statistica.

Resolution

Java is used only in the JPMML Evaluator within Rapid Deployment module.  The specific Java components used is:

 

  • In Statistica 14.0, 14.0.1, and 14.1, is bundled with Oracle 11 JRE (license included with Statistica).  Note that none of the "Commercial" features are included with Statistica as mentioned in this knowledge base article:  https://support.tibco.com/wolken-support/kbsearch/article?articleNumber=KB0070178 (login to https://support.tibco.com and search for KB0070178).  Also, only use Oracle Java within Statistica as it has limited use as described below:

    LICENSE TO USE. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement including, but not limited to, the Java Technology Restrictions of the Supplemental License Terms, Oracle grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license without license fees to reproduce and use internally the Software complete and unmodified for the sole purpose of running Programs. 

 

  • In Statistica 14.2 and later, is bundled with OpenJDK JRE from Adoptium.net (open source and is free).  The license is here:  https://openjdk.org/legal/gplv2+ce.html
