How to gather performance counters in Performance Monitor for Spotfire Statistica Data Entry
Environment
OS: Windows
Resolution
1. Open Performance Monitor by searching in the search box or by clicking Start>>Windows Administrative Tools:
2. Right-click on User Defined and select New>>Data Collector Set:
3. Change the name to DataEntry and select "Create manually (Advanced), then click Next:
4. Select all 3 logs, as below, and click Next:
5. Click "Add...":
6. Select each counter group and click "Add>>". Add the the 8 counter groups and click OK as below:
7. Click Next:
8. Add the ASP.NET Events and the IIS: WWW Server providers and click Next:
9. Click Next:
10. Keep the root directory to save the data or browse to a different desired location:
11. Select an admin user and select "Start this data collector set now", then click Finish:
The DataEntry collector set will be collecting data and saving the data to the files shown:
Collect for the duration needed, then right-click on DataEntry and select Stop:
Send the files to support for analysis.
Note: Attached at the bottom is the DataEntryPerformanceCountersTemplate.xml, which can be used to create the Data Collection Set. Follow steps 1 through 3, above, but on step 3, select "Create from a template (recommended). Then click Finish. Finally, start the data collection by right-clicking on the collection set and selecting Start. Collect for the amount time required and then right-click on the collection set to select Stop. Send the files to support for analysis.
