Performance issues can be caused by the following:
1. SQL ODBC Tracing - writing to a log file every SQL transaction
2. Statistica Server and the SQL database server (or Oracle) on different networks
3. Statistica Server and SQL database server (or Oracle) in different regional zones (AWS and Azure) or different LANs
Note: There may be additional causes like low resources on the servers, etc.
OS: Windows
SOLUTION ONE
Turn off the the ODBC tracing by following these steps:
1. Go to ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit)
2. Click on the Tracing tab
3. Click "Stop Tracing Now"
Note: "Machine-Wide tracing for all user identities" can severely impact performance.

Note: If the SQL.log(s) are not needed, delete them, as these can very become very large. Typical locations are:
1. C:\SQL.log
2. User folder, e.g. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp
3. Any specified path other than the default (see Figure 2 above)
SOLUTION TWO
1. Change the network configuration so that the Statistica server is on the same network as the database server. Contact your network administrator, system admin, or infrastructure team to make this change.
Note: The network admin, system admin, or infrastructure team will be able to check network latency, bandwidth, etc. to determine if there is a network performanc issue.
SOLUTION THREE
1. Contact AWS or Azure support to place the virtual servers in the same regional zone or troubleshoot further. See https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/network-throughput-benchmark-linux-ec2
This article will discuss how to fix known performance issues with opening Spotfire Statistica Enterprise Manager (a.k.a Statistica Enterprise Manager).
