Both BC EDI protocol and the BCCE EDI Protocol utilize a file called default_guidelines.map to define what .sef/.std files are needed for the default 997 operations.  Presently, only 997s for X12 4010 and above are defined in these files.  For BC, the file is located in the $BC_HOME/protocols/tibedi/config directory.  For BCCE the file is located in "/bcce-x.x.x/images/services/cms/bcce-cms/config".

XSD Schema and Map files are supposed to be provided in all the cases where the 997 is to be processed by the BusinessWorks private process. The guideline is optional and if not added to the operation, it can be added to the folders described above. They also need to modify the default_guidelines.map to add their specific guideline related line. For BCCE only, the images of CMS and IS servers will then need to be rebuilt and the CMS and IS servers will need to be restarted.

Current versions of the BusinessConnect EDI protocol and BusinessConnect Container Edition EDI protocol support automatic configuration of the X12 997 operation in the Operations Editor, which means that the 997 operation for the specified operation need only be created to function.
