Description

With the release of Spotfire 14.6 LTS, the highly requested bulk formatting feature was introduced.

This feature is particularly beneficial when you import large datasets that contain multiple currency, percentage, or date columns that require uniform formatting rules.

Resolution

To apply the same formatting to multiple columns simultaneously in the Spotfire UI:

  1. Click on the Data in analysis icon (the data table icon on the left authoring bar) to open the flyout panel.
  2. Manually select each column or hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) and click to select all the columns you wish to format. You can also hold Shift to select a continuous range of columns. 
  3. Click on the Column Settings. ( represented by a gear icon).
  4. Navigate to the Formatting section within this tab.
  5. Choose your desired data type category and specify the exact formatting rules.

 

The chosen formatting will be immediately applied to all the selected columns across the analysis.

This article explains how to simultaneously format multiple columns in Spotfire. This allows users to save time and ensure consistent data presentation without having to format each column individually.
