The purpose of this advisory is to provide notice of the WebFOCUS Support Statement for Java Distribution, which will be changing as of May 29, 2026.

ibi includes Oracle Java SE in the Windows installation packages of the following products as an optional component to allow the software to run out of the box:

• ibi WebFOCUS Client
• ibi WebFOCUS AppStudio
• ibi WebFOCUS DSML Services

To comply with new licensing changes from Oracle, WebFOCUS releases 9.3.7, 9.2.7, and all subsequent releases delivered after May 29, 2026 will no longer include Oracle Java SE by default. In its place, we will package Amazon Corretto, a no-cost, multiplatform, production-ready distribution of OpenJDK.

Additionally, any Java included in earlier releases of WebFOCUS products will not be updated.

For these releases, it is your responsibility to configure WebFOCUS using a licensed and supported Oracle Java SE version, or to move to an alternative of your choice. Customers with existing contracts, executed prior to May 30, 2026, can continue using Oracle Java for the remainder of their subscription term. Upon contract renewal after May 30, 2026, customers will need to deploy the latest version of the related ibi product that utilizes the no-cost Amazon Corretto OpenJDK, or license Oracle Java SE directly from Oracle if they wish to continue using it.
