Description

To enable an IBM DB2 data connector in Spotfire Analyst, the corresponding IBM DB2 ODBC CLI driver needs to be installed on the machine where Spotfire Analyst is installed.

Issue/Introduction

How to install an IBM DB2 driver to enable IBM DB2 Data Connector option inside Spotfire Analyst.

Resolution

Follow the steps below.

1). Create a folder with a name - "IBM" inside C:\Program Files.

2). Un-compress the downloaded driver file and copy the contents inside the folder created above, i.e. inside C:\Program Files\IBM.

3). Open the command prompt (cmd) with Administrator rights.

4). Run the command -> cd C:\Program Files\IBM\bin

5). Execute the command -> db2cli install -setup

6). After running the command above, the following message will be displayed - "IBM Data Server Driver for ODBC and CLI" is registered successfully.
See the attached (Filename: IBMDB2.PNG).

Launch Spotfire Analyst and if the IBM DB2 connector option is still not enabled then follow KB Article - 000029189 (IBM DB2 driver installed but Spotfire data connector is still disabled).
