How do we get started?
Installation is a two step process. The first step is for your IT staff run one of the above installers on a local system. The second step is for them to follow the remaining steps to deploy the service into AWS or Azure cloud environments.
The following describes why you would want to use Spotfire® Data Streams for Cloud and next steps.
Spotfire Data Streams for Cloud is a separately installable web service for AWS or Azure hosting that allows you to create LiveView Tables (referred to as Data Streams) from your web browser. Data Streams are managed windows of event data from a streaming data source, backed by LiveView, that directly becomes available for analysis in Spotfire or other clients using REST interfaces.
The "dscloud" installer for your OS creates a sub-folder in your current Spotfire Streaming installation directory 'sdk/cloud-ds' which contains the installation instructions and kubernetes scripts for deployment to AWS or Azure.
If you are a current user of TIBCO Cloud™ Data Streams, this is the installer that lets you run this service in the cloud environment managed by your teams.
The connectors available in the product at the time of publication are the following:
Data Streams are configured through use of the web application which provides schema discovery after connecting to the target Kafka or MQTT service URL. Data is then streamed into LiveView tables created for each connection, ready for external use.
Consider the data you have that changes frequently: sales leads, transactions, vehicle locations, equipment status, variable devices, social media updates, customer calls, complex manufacturing environments, kiosks, websites, customer orders, check messages, supply chain updates, etc. Next, consider questions that start with "Tell me When. Tell me why." These can be answered in real time, millions of times a day.
If you are using Spotfire Analyst, a Data Streams for Cloud service can provide data into dynamic visualizations suitable for at-a-glance understanding of to-the-minute state of your data. Similarly, near real-time data may be explored alongside historical data for comparison and continuity using the same gestures in the same dashboard UI.
The installation steps are suitable for IT staff already familiar with and maintaining your AWS or Azure presence. Please have them refer to guides:
