It is not desired to have all users who have access to Statistica Enterprise Manager to also have access to the Versioning option for files that have been inserted into Statistica Enterprise Manager.  What permissions are necessary to restrict users from accessing Versioning for files inserted into Statistica Enterprise Manager?

Note: Many different file types can be added to Statistica Enterprise Manager (ex. sdm and svx ) and all have the Versioning option.

 

Set of Permissions required to restrict users from checking/unchecking the versioning option for files inserted into Statistica Enterprise Manager.

Windows OS

If the user is given only read permission and is removed from Analysis Admin and System Admin group then that particular user will not have permission to check/uncheck the versioning option.

As an example, files can be saved locally and then added to Statistica Enterprise.  Follow the steps below to save and add a Statistica file to Statistica Enterprise.

1. Please open any of the workspace examples from File-->Open Examples--->Workspace.
2. Save as that workspace from File--->Save as:



3. Add the saved Workspace in Enterprise Manager:




Steps to Resolve:
1. We need to create the user in the Enterprise Manager and check all the permissions except the Analysis Admin and System Admin group permission.



2. In Enterprise Manager, we should allow only read-only access for that particular workspace ( In our case, We have given only read access to User2):



3. Close the Statistica application and Enterprise Manager too.
4. Login with the User we created in Enterprise Manager.
5. The user will not be able to check/uncheck the versioning option as the user doesn't have permissions of Analysis Admin and System Admin:
