Description

Summary: How to set up Portals for Public users in WebFOCUS version 9

Problem:

After upgrading from version WebFOCUS 8 and WebFOCUS 9.

Running a Portal that has Public access enabled throws “403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied”

Issue/Introduction

How to set up Portals for Public users in WebFOCUS version 9

Environment

Sandboxes: WebFOCUS 9.x and WebFOCUS 8207.27.xx

Resolution

Solution:

Anonymous Authentication should be enabled.

Public access is available only when Anonymous Authentication is enabled in the WebFOCUS Management Center under the Client Administration, Administration Console, Security tab, and Security Zones Default Authentication.

If you Execute any Portal that is stored in the IBFS:/WFC/Public folder it should run for the public users.

But this seems to be an issue with WebFOCUS 9 releases.
Note: In WebFOCUS 8 you can view the Portal and run it.
Note: in WebFOCUS 9 the Portal is not displayed.
