Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to resolve the "Invalid login attempt" error when logging into our TDV Business Directory using Active Directory accounts.

Resolution

To help resolve this issue, update the LDAP password in Tibco Business Directory's LDAP management page for a secure LDAP server connection. If the password is entered invalid in the Password tab for the particular AD account in the LDAP management page, it will result in an Invalid login attempt error.

Kindly follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Business directory.
  2. Add an LDAP user type - Active directory. Make sure the user you are logged in as Admin, or as a user with the Admin access right.
  3. Admin-->sites--->click the '+' icon to add a site. After adding the site it will bring up all the users added.
  4. Provide the LDAP password for any sites that return this message: "The LDAP password is missing. Please supply the password"
  5. If the password is invalid for any of these sites in the Annotation tab we get an error message: "password is invalid. Please enter correct password"
  6. Update the correct password in the Password tab for the particular AD account to resolve the issue.
