Description

Using the Snowflake data connector to bring in spatial data to TIBCO Spotfire can result in missing data in map charts unless some extra configurations are completed.

This article explains how best to import spatial (map chart) data from Snowflake into Spotfire to prevent issues.

Resolution

1.  Snowflake geometry data is in WKT format, which is not supported in Spotfire.  The data will need to be converted to WKB format.  Details on this process can be found here:
2.  Snowflake geometry data doesn't include all location data by default, e.g. X- and Y- Min/Max/Center information.  If these columns are missing in Spotfire then they will need to be added as new columns in the data.  Those instructions can be found here:
