Description

When trying to log on with the TIBCO Spotfire Spotfire iOS (2.13 and higher), Android (1.4.5 and higher), and Mac applications (1.1.3 and higher), the connection fails with the error:
Library connection failed. Check the connection URL or contact your IT department.

If you attempt to log on with an earlier version of the application, you can connect successfully.

Issue/Introduction

The TIBCO Spotfire application cannot connect to the server, getting the error message: Library connection failed. Check the connection URL or contact your IT department.

Resolution

Changes have been made to the mobile apps to be able to correctly connect to Spotfire version 11.7 and higher. Now, the mobile apps must connect to the TIBCO Spotfire Server using its defined "public address" as set in the server configuration. If the Spotfire Server's public address in the Spotfire manifest is different than the URL entered in the mobile app the connection will not be successful.  To resolve, use the Spotfire Server's public address when logging in with the mobile applications.

To see or set the Spotfire Server's public address you can use the TIBCO Spotfire Server configuration tool's Public Address page, where you can enable the public address URL.
