Description

By using Language variants Multiple text variants can be stored against a number of diagram objects, such as activities, free text, note bubbles, flow lines, etc. A user's locale setting will determine which object text variant is displayed. Since a single map can store multiple text translations at the object level, there is no need to create multiple versions of a map for different languages.

To add language variants you can go to -Administration -> System options -> Display -> Language Variants
By clicking on the add button you can add the new language.

However, if the Language Variants list only contains one language, and you try to change this language, all text present on the map will disappear.

Resolution

This is expected behaviour. As mentioned in the description we have to add the text variants for the diagram objects.
The text present on the map is not automatically translated and will show as empty by default. Thus, if we switch the language and there is no text variant for that language, it will show as empty.

Issue/Introduction

When you change the language in the language variants without adding other languages, the text present on all maps disappears
