This article provides steps to resolve the error ''Failed to update database because the database is read-only'' while the TIBCO Cloud Integration - Connect (Scribe) on-premise agent is being updated. Reviewing the AgentUpdateError log shows the error below.

Error Move Failure: AGTenants System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Failed to update database "C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\SCRIBE SOFTWARE\SCRIBE ONLINE AGENT 2\SCRIBE2.MDF" because the database is read-only.

Issue/Introduction

This article provides steps to resolve the error ''Failed to update database because the database is read-only'' while the TIBCO Cloud Integration - Connect (Scribe) on-premise agent is being updated.

Resolution

To resolve the error, follow the steps below:
  1. Ensure that the TIBCO Cloud Integration - Connect (Scribe) On-premise agent is configured to log on as a domain user.
  2. Grant read/write access to the user running the TIBCO Scribe Online agent on the SCRIBE SOFTWARE folder.
  3. Navigate to the folder  'C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\SCRIBE SOFTWARE' folder, > Right-click on the 'SCRIBE SOFTWARE' folder > Properties > Security > Edit > Add the User running the TIBCO Scribe On-premise agent > Grant Full Control (this includes read/write access).
  4. Restart the TIBCO Cloud Integration - Connect (Scribe) online-premise agent service.
