The steps to carry out a TDV (TIBCO Data Virtualization) patch upgrade to 8.5 are below.

Linux:

1.  Stop the TDV services by running the following commands:

             $ composite.sh monitor stop
             $ composite.sh repo stop
             $ composite.sh cache stop

2.  Unzip the TDV 8.5 patch file (TIB_tdv_server_8.5.0_all.zip) over the TDV installation directory.

3.  Grant permissions to the upgrade script as below:

              $ chmod 777 ./bin/cis_upgrade_patch.sh

4.  Run the upgrade script as below:

              $ ./bin/cis_upgrade_patch.sh

5.  The script will prompt for the repository password and the cache password. Enter the passwords at the prompt.

6.  Wait  2-3 minutes to give the TDV services enough time to start up. Then, restart the services as below:

              $ composite.sh monitor restart

Windows:

1.  Use Window Services to stop the following services:

•           TDV server             
•           TDV DV repository
•           TDV cache   

2.  Unzip the TDV 8.5 patch file (TIB_tdv_server_8.5.0_all.zip) over the TDV installation directory.

3.   Open a DOS command window in 'Run as Administrator' mode.

               

      Run the upgrade script in the DOS command window as below:

             .\bin\cis_upgrade_patch.bat

5.  The script will prompt for the repository password and the cache password. Enter the passwords at the prompt.

 6.  Wait 2-3 minutes to give the TDV services enough time to start up.  Then, use Window Services to stop the following services:

•           TDV server             
•           TDV DV repository
•           TDV cache
