The Statistica Document Management System database needs to moved to a new database server.  What is the best way to do this and how can the SDMS install be configured to point to the new database. 

Follow these steps:

1.  Stop the Statistica Document Management service (Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services, right-click on Statistica Document Management service and then click "Stop")
2.  Perform a full backup of the SDMS metadata database
3.  Move and restore the full backup to the new database location.  For SQL server, see  How to move Statistica Enterprise Meta database from one SQL Server to another SQL Server
4.  Point the SDMS installation to the new  SDMS database by editing the information in the SDMS Admin tool (Start | SDMS | SDMS Administration | System Settings | Database Connection String)


5.  Edit the string manually or click the "Edit" button and configure a DSN:


6. Restart the Statistica Document Management (SDMS) Service (Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services, right-click on Statistica Document Management service and then click "Start")
