This article describes the configuration steps required to enable/disable the "EDIT" button in Web Player. The "EDIT" button is present at top right corner of the Web Player page.

To prevent users from having access rights to all business author features on Web Player or disable the "EDIT" button, you will need to disable the "TIBCO Spotfire Business Author" licenses for the group of users who are members.
 

Disabling the "EDIT" button in Web Player.

  1. Login to Spotfire client/analyst with user having Spotfire Administrator privilege.
  2. Go to Tools->Administration Manager.
  3. Click the "Groups and Licenses" tab. Select the required group and click the "Licenses" tab in the right pane.
  4. Click on the Edit button to edit licenses and disable (uncheck) "TIBCO Spotfire Business Author" license.

Similarly if you want to have access rights to all business author features on the Web Player or enable the "EDIT" button, you will need to enable the "TIBCO Spotfire Business Author" license for the group of users who are members.
 

Enabling the "EDIT" button in Web Player.

  1. Login to Spotfire client/analyst with the user having Spotfire Administrator privilege.
  2. Go to Tools->Administration Manager.
  3. Click the "Groups and Licenses" tab. Select the required group and click the "Licenses" tab in the right pane.
  4. Click on the Edit button to edit licenses and enable (check) the "TIBCO Spotfire Business Author" license.
