Description
A Spotfire Administrator may want to restrict the number of days that a user can work offline, or extend it without limitation.

How to Control "Work Offline" and login behavior.
Resolution
This is handled in the TIBCO Spotfire Server Configuration Tool. These options are found under "Configuration > Login Dialog" section.

Configure Login Dialog Behavior:
- Allow working offline
- Permitted offline days

Spotfire Administrators can set "Allow working offline" to specify whether the users have the option of working offline without logging into the server, or increase the number of days under "Permitted offline days" if the user is allowed more time offline.
The permitted offline days is by default set to "-1" in the Spotfire server configuration which means never prompt the user for login. To read through difference between setting the work offline limit to -1 for the Analyst vs the Portable client, refer KBA 000036585 .
