Statistica is crashing during launch.  What  might be a solution to this?

Windows operating systems only.

1.  Sometimes Statistica will generate a crash report that can be saved and sent to support.  If so, have development analyze the crash report. 
2.  If no crash report and Statistica just hangs, a Task Manager dump file may help.  Open Task Manager, right click on statist.exe and select "Create dump file".  Development can look at these to determine cause of the issue.
3.  Delete the StatOpts.xml file.  See What is the StatOpts.xml file and where is it located?
4.  Sometimes Statistica has trouble opening a project, a datafile, or a spreadsheet, when opening but changing the option to "Do not open or create a document" will resolve future issues:
