Description
Loss of plugins and other stateful information occurs when StreamBase Studio is run from within the DMG file and the "TIBCO StreamBase {X.y.z}" folder has not been copied to another location first. The problem is most pronounced after restarting a computer running macOS Sierra, which implements a security feature called "Gatekeeper Path Randomization" (GPR).
Issue/Introduction
This reports the most frequent cause and repair for this issue.
Resolution
The solution is to complete the installation following steps "3." and "4." in the "Steps to Install StreamBase on macOS" on the Help page "Installing StreamBase on macOS" (https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sb-cep/7.7.0/doc/html/install/installonosx.html).
The recommended install location is in an "Applications" folder in your $HOME directory (you may need to create this folder).
If you need to subsequently install additional features distributed by TIBCO in *.archive-bin install scripts, the default location for those is the path "/opt/tibco/sb-cep/X.y". The install script asks whether to change this location. If you install to the recommended install location, then the path will be "$HOME/Applications/TIBCO StreamBase {X.y.z}" (where {X.y.z} is replaced by the actual version and service pack number, for example: 7.7.0).
