Spotfire Statistica | 13.1 and above. |
By default, Statistica will automatically save (back up) all documents produced during your analyses (spreadsheets, workbooks, graphs, etc.) that are marked as "modified" (usually indicated by an asterisk next to the title of the respective document). For example, all workbooks containing (by default) the output from your analyses will be marked in this manner, and automatically backed up. Also, when you are entering data into a newly created spreadsheet, the program will automatically back up the data file as your work progresses.
Specifically, these files will be saved every k minutes, as specified in the respective option under Auto Save in the Options dialog box - General tab (see below). If your computer should fail (e.g., power surge or power failure) during an analysis session causing Statistica to shut down abnormally, the next time you start Statistica you will see this message:
Click the Yes button to reopen the previously saved (backed up) documents. This option is very useful when you want to make sure that your work is properly backed up during lengthy analysis sessions. For example, if you are entering data into a spreadsheet, then you are guaranteed to lose no more than k minutes of your work in case of a power failure (the time interval k between auto-saving as well as other related settings can be specified on the General tab of the Options dialog).
Click the No button to discard the auto-recovery files from the last abnormally terminated Statistica session
Options dialog box - General tab
The Auto Save section has several options. Press the F1 key (or click the ? icon at the top right) for details. Auto Save is enabled by default which allows for files to be searched for in the designated path so they can be recovered. So another way to recover files is by following the steps below:
1. Select the File tab, then select Options.
2. In the General options, if Auto Save is enabled, then copy and paste the path into Windows Explorer (If Auto Save is not enabled, click the box to remove the check to enable it):
4. Double-click to open the file to recover:
