PRE-REQUISTES:
1. The workstation should have IBM ODBC driver installed. If this has not been installed, you may download ODBC driver for Windows from :

2. On Enterprise Manager, the user must have Database Admin (EXTDB_ADM) privileges.
RESOLUTION:
Note: If the driver chosen in the pre-requisite step is IBM OLEDB provider for DB2, you may skip to step 5 directly and choose the IBM OLEDB Provider instead.
1. Open Control Panel | (System and Security) | Administrative Tools | Data Sources (ODBC) . Switch to the "System DSN" tab.
2. Click on Add. Choose the 'IBM DB2 ODBC Driver' and then click the Finish button.
3. Enter a Data Source Name that will help you associate to the database you are connecting to. Optionally enter a description. Click on the Add button next to 'Database alias'.
4. Click on the 'Advanced Settings' tab to Add important connection details such as hostname,port,protocol and database information. Switch to the 'Data Source' tab and enter User Name and password details.You may click on the Connect button to check the connection to the DB2 database. Click on OK to close the dialog and save the DSN information.
5. From Statistica Enterprise Manager, click on Database Connections. Right click and choose 'New OLEDB Database Connection' Alternatively, If the connection is established from Statistica desktop application, the user can click on File | External Data | Query | Create and then Click on 'New OLEDB...' button
6. Choose the 'Microsoft OLEDB Provider for ODBC Drivers'. Click on the Next Button. Pick the data source created in Step 4 and enter the username and password to connect to the database. Also enable the option to 'Allow Saving Password' to avoid having to retype the password every time data has to be queried.
7. Test the connection with the Test Connection button or click on the drop down list next to Initial dialog to establish a connection and choose the database. Click on OK to close the Data Link Properties dialog.
8. Name the connection and depending on the application being used to make the connection - click on the commit button in Enterprise Manager or click on OK to save the connection information in Statistica.
