Description

In version 13.2 and earlier versions, report files generated from Enterprise report are overwritten when the report is scheduled to be executed repeatedly (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly, etc.), and only the latest report is finally saved. This brings a problem when user wants to save and view the old reports, not just the latest one.

Issue/Introduction

Add Time stamp to report file names so that repeatedly executed report files are not overwritten

Environment

Windows

Resolution

In 13.3.0 onward, an option is implemented to resolve the issue by adding time stamps to scheduled report file names.

With the new option, the report files are not overwritten when the report task is executed repeatedly. The user is able to save every instance of the repeatedly executed report files with each having a different time stamped file name.

1. In Statistica Enterprise Manager, go to the sub-node "Output Options" under the report which is to be executed repeatedly. There are two new options available when intending to save the report files to local directory.

  • Append date to file name in YYYYMMDD format
  • Append time to file name in HHMMSS format

2. Tick above two options and commit the change. Schedule the report to be executed repeatedly. Every instance of the repeatedly executed report will be saved with a time stamp attached to the file name.

The time stamp attached in each report file name is the exact time when the report is generated/created.
