MAS Pool Size influences the number of dllhost.exe process that run on the MAS server at the time of MAS task execution via the service. The default pool size of MAS is 4. Certain customers may find the need to increase the pool size, if they have more than 4 tasksets that are scheduled to run at a given point of time on the server (as opposed to rescheduling tasks so only 4 tasks run).
To increase the pool size in MAS, an administrator needs to login to the MAS Server and follow the below steps:
1. Navigate to Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Component Services.
2. In the Console Root tree view on the left hand pane, expand Component Services | My Computer | COM+ Applications | STATISTICA Monitoring and Alerting Server. Right click and choose "Properties".
3. Open the "Pooling & Recycling" tab and change the value in Pool Size to a higher number as shown in the picture below. Click on "Apply" and "OK".
Important Note: Increasing the Pool Size to greater than twice the number of CPU cores can cause system instability.
4. Expand Services in the Component Services tree view and re-start the service named 'MASMonitorService'
