Description
How to update the license file or apply a feature code in the Statistica Document Management System (SDMS). This applies for all SDMS installs that are not linked to the Statistica license file.
Note: Prior to Statistica 13.2, SDMS was licensed with a separate. independent, license file. Beginning with Statistica 13.2, SDMS is licensed by pointing to the main Statistica license file.
Environment
Windows operating systems only.
Resolution
Below are instructions for updating your Statistica Document Management System license (see below on how to apply a feature code). It is recommended that the license file update be performed while the administrator is logged onto the server machine.
1. On the server machine, save the new license file to the desktop location with the name, stat.lic.
2. Launch the Windows Explorer and navigate to the installation path for the SDMS software (the default path is C:\Program
Files (x86)\StatSoft\SDMS). Other default paths are possible but SDMS is a 32 application so the application folder is typically in the Program Files (x86) directory.
3. Rename the stat.lic file in this folder to stat.bak.
4. Copy the new stat.lic file from the desktop location into this folder. Note: Only one file in the folder can have the *.lic
extension.
5. Open the Services applet from Control Panel | Administrative Tools.
6. Locate the Statistica Document Management service in the list and select it. Click the 'Restart Service' button in the
toolbar at the top.
7. Open SDMS and verify that license has updated. Delete the stat.lic file from the desktop.
The user can also use the SDMS Administrator to view this information. In the SDMS Administration tool from the root SDMS node, right click and select All Tasks | License Information:
