Error 1059 occurs when starting the STATISTICA License Manager:  

Circular Dependency



Cause: Error 1059 indicates a circular services dependency. There should not be any dependencies associated with the licensing service.

Environment

Windows operating systems only.

Resolution

To remove the circular dependency, perform the following steps on the server where the license service is installed:

1. Open the service console from Start | Run | Services.msc.
2. Right-click on STATISTICA License Manager service and select properties.
3. Click on the 'Dependencies' tab.
4. Check if there are any services listed under "The service depends on the following system components".
5. If any services are listed, they need to be deleted from the registry.
6. Open regedit and navigate to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\SERVICES\STATISTICA License Manager".
7. Create a backup of that branch of the registry by right-clicking on the registry key value "STATISTICA License Manager" and select export.
8. Locate and delete the string value(s) DependOnService, and if present DependOnGroup.
9. Reboot the machine and STATISTICA License Manager service should start automatically.
