Description

The article talks about how to use processing missing data function to recode many missing data to be blank. The definition of missing data can be defined by the user.

Resolution

1. Go to "Data | Filter/Recode | Process Missing Data"

2. Click "Variables" and "Cases" to select those variables and cases that you want to apply the replacement as "Input Variables"

3.  Under "Missing Data Parameters:" table in the "Process Missing Data"  dialog, specify the values you want to define as Missing Data in "Additional MD values" column. e.g. 0 or "$0"

4. Specify the new value that is to be replaced with in "Recode value" column.  To replace the values with blanks, just leave it blank under "Recode value" column.

5. Check the option "Create new spreadsheet" to create a new spreadsheet of the replaced data and click "OK".

Note: All original missing values in your spreadsheet will be replaced to be blank too in the new spreadsheet.
