1. In Statistica, create a scatterplot for illustration
2. Click on the graph created, right click the mouse, select "Graph Options..." from the drop-down menu
3. In the Graph options dialog, go to the tab "Axis", select "X" as Axis and click on "Add new axis". A new x-axis (X') is created and selected as Axis for editing. Go to sub-tab "Title" under "Axis", type the customized name for the new axis X'.
4. Continue editing the new Axis X'. Go to sub-tab "Scale Values", click on "Edit custom labels...". It leads to "Custom Units" sub-tab dialog, manually key in the new axis X' values ("Text" column) for corresponding original x-axis labels ("Position" column). For example, new axis X' has value "-1" at original x-axis position "-2", new axis has value "1" at original x-axis position "2", and so on. User can enter string text or numerical values for the new axis at column "Text".
5. Click OK. The new axis X' with customized title and values will be added to the graph.
6. If user wants to skip some labels along the axis, go to sub-tab "Scale values" under "Axis", select "Show every XX label" under "Skip values" section.
For example, show every 2 label. The new axis X' will skip a label in every 2 labels.
