Spotfire Statistica | All supported versions |
This tool, FileFinder, is only used in cases where the user receives messages that the system clock has been set back when launching Statistica.
SOLUTION ONE
This program, FileFinder, searches by key locations on the system drive for files that are dated incorrectly. If any files that match this criteria are found, it will display a list of them. It can be downloaded below.
In order to run this program, you must have administrative permissions or be logged in as the administrator on your computer. If the OS is Window 7, or newer, the user will need to right click on the program and click “Run as administrator” in order to run this program without error.
The option to 'Search Entire Drive' should not normally be needed and will likely cause extremely long run times.
Download the attachment, FileFinder.txt. Then follow these detailed steps:
1. Rename the file FileFinder.exe.
2 Right-click and select "Run as administrator."
3. Click the "Search" button at the bottom. Do NOT check the box to "Search the Entire Drive"
4. During the search, if "Access to path....is denied", just click okay to continue the search.
Eventually, some files will show up with dates, etc. Attribute Changer can be used to change the files to the appropriate date and time. It can be found at the following link:

SOLUTION TWO
Make sure the system clock is correct (set to the correct date and time). If it is already correct, try the following:
1. Open Windows Explorer (Right click on your "Start" menu and select "Explore").
2. Right click on Local Disk C: and choose Search.
Note: If you have multiple drives including mapped drives you will also need to search these.
3. In the field "All or part of the file name" enter *.* (which means all files)
4. Select the "When was it modified?" option and click "Specify dates". Enter today's date in the From field. In the "To" field enter a date one year from now.
5. Select Search
6. In the results pane, click on the "Date Modified" column header to sort the files by date.
7. Look for ANY files or folders with a date/time in the future.
8. For each file with a date/time combination greater than current, right click on it and choose properties, then click on the Summary tab and then click OK. This should reset the modified date to the current date.
Note: As an alternative to step 4, you can search for all files instead of for a specific date. Then proceed with Step 6.
