In some situations, Enterprise server is 64-bit system with 64-bit Statistica installed and workstation clients could be either 64-bit or 32-bit systems. Usually, there will be two client installer folders available in the 64-bit server after 64-bit Enterprise is installed/upgraded, one is "Workstation Installer 64" to be shared with 64-bit clients for client installation/upgrade, and the other is "Workstation Installer 32" to be shared with 32-bit clients for client installation/upgrade.
However, for some reasons in some cases, the "Workstation Installer 32" folder might be somehow deleted or absent during version upgrades in the 64-bit server, as a result, 32-bit client workstations would not be able to upgrade/install since 64-bit installer would not run on 32-bit client systems.
Possible reasons:
1. The installation folder structure or installation configuration was not set up correctly during the installation in the server.
2. An upgrade will only install the workstation installer folders that were installed in the server before the upgrade. Meaning, if only the Workstation Installer 64 folder is installed in the server before the upgrade, only the Workstation Installer 64 folder is going to exist after the upgrade.
Here is a workaround to have the 32-bit client installer "Workstation Installer 32" folder back in the server:
1. Download the 13.4.0 installer from TIBCO eDelivery site (e.g. TIB_stat_13.4.0_win.zip)
2. Open or unzip the installer folder (e.g. 13.4), find the sub-folder named "Install32"
3. Copy the folder "Install32" to the Statistica application installation folder in the server where folder "Workstation Installer 64" exist (e.g. C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica 13)
4. Rename the "Install32" folder to "Workstation Installer 32", without the quotes
5. Copy the XXNET and the en.dsn files from the "Workstation Installer 64" folder and paste them into the "Workstation Installer 32" folder
6. Share the "Workstation Installer 32" folder in the server to 32-bit client workstations and upgrade/install clients to 13.4 by following this KB article.
Note:
One can adapt the same process if the "Workstation Installer 64" folder is missing, but switch the bitness.
