Description

When a browser console log trace is required to investigate a user interface issue within a flow in TIBCO Cloud Integration Connect, it can be challenging to capture the console log trace for a flow because a flow is opened as a popup window. By default, in all browsers, the console log will not open for popup windows. The Google Chrome Browser is the only one that has a setting to allow this behavior.

Issue/Introduction

How to enable the console log trace to open for the flow pop-up window

Resolution

Note: The below resolution is only for Google Chrome. Other browsers such as Firefox or Internet Explorer do not have this option.

1. With a Google Chrome browser session open, navigate to the TIBCO Cloud Integration Connect app that contains the flow in which a console log trace is required to be captured.
2. Before opening the flow, navigate to the three dots in the Chrome browser window's upper right-hand corner. Select "More Tools" and then "Developer Tools." When the Developer Tools open make sure the "Console" tab is selected. There will be two gear icons on the Developer Tools window's upper right-hand side. Select the gear icon that is above the other one; when hovering over the gear icon, it should display "Settings."

3. Scroll down in the "Settings" menu and find the "Auto-open DevTools for popups" option. Select this option and close "Settings." Keep the Console log open.

4. In the TIBCO Cloud Integration Connect app, click the flow, and it will open as a popup, but now there will be a Console log running in a separate window for the flow.
5. Once the issue is captured, save the Console log trace and provide it to the Support Engineer via a Support Case attachment in the TIBCO Support Portal.
