Description

Error: 
Verify that the connection URL is correct and that you can connect to the same URL from the system running the Scribe Online Agent.  The following exception message was returned: ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized.   Exception type: System.ServiceModel.FaultException  Fault Information  Fault Code: System.ServiceModel.FaultCode  Fault Message: ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized.  Fault Action: http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing/soap/fault  Fault Reason: ID3242: The security token could not be authenticated or authorized.

Resolution

The error message indicates an authentication issue.  One of the following scenarios could be the cause: 
  • If you have an on-premises version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM installed, it may require a new certificate on the server.
  • If you are using an Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) Server to authenticate and the configuration has been modified, Microsoft Dynamics CRM may not be able to authenticate.
  • Verify that permissions for your user account are correct and have not been modified. 
  • Attempting to connect with Claims Based Authentication on an internet facing deployment of Microsoft Dynamics CRM may cause issues. Contact Microsoft for assistance. 
  • Verify that the logged in user is part of the administrators in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM deployment manager.
