Issue/Introduction
How to resolve the connector command request timed out error.
Resolution
When querying a large data set, the source system may not be able to return all of the data encompassed by that request and the request times out. Use filters to reduce the amount of data returned. Options include the following:
- Use the Query Block Net Change option to limit data to new and updated records.
- Use the Block Properties Filters tab on Query and Fetch Blocks to limit the data returned based on filter criteria.
- For SQL based Connectors, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle MySQL, or PostgreSQL use Stored Procedures, Tables, or Views to limit the amount of data returned.
- For CData based Connectors, refer to the help to see if they support using Stored Procedures, Tables, or Views to limit the amount of data returned.
- For Oracle Database, create a User or Synonym that only has access to the specific objects you need to reference in your Maps/Flows. Configure the TIBCO Scribe Online Connection with that user.
