Description
Fail to create or edit MYSQL JDBC Data Source connection, using the Spotfire analyst client Information services with the error: “CLIENT_PLUGIN_AUTH is required”
Issue/Introduction
MYSQL JDBC Data Source connection fails with the error: “CLIENT_PLUGIN_AUTH is required” while editing or creating a MYSQL JDBC datasource using the Spotfire Information Designer

Resolution
Check if the version of JDBC driver is compatible with the MYSQL DB version e.g. check if you are using a new version of the MYSQL JDBC driver which may not be compatible with the old version of MYSQL database.
For version 10.3 and above the JDBC driver is copied to the <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\custom-ext folder
For 10.2 and below the JDBC driver is copied to the <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\lib folder
For version 10.3 and above the JDBC driver is copied to the <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\custom-ext folder
For 10.2 and below the JDBC driver is copied to the <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\lib folder
