This article points out the configuration that needs to be switched in order to change the return datatype of the TO_DATE function to TIMESTAMP in TDV.

How to change the return datatype of TO_DATE function to TIMESTAMP in TIBCO Data Virtualization?

Resolution

Configuration parameter named "Return data type of TO_DATE Function", which can be found in TDV Studio -> Administration -> Configuration -> Server > SQL Engine > Overrides menu, is used to control the data type returned by the TO_DATE function. 

By default, function TO_DATE returns a DATE datatype. To return a TIMESTAMP, when the format string is given, set the above configuration flag to FALSE. (default is TRUE)

Note: For a change to this configuration parameter to take effect, rebind or explicitly re-save the view.
