The problem is caused by using Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol to connect to the server where the installation is taking place.

Environment

TIBCO iProcess Engine installation on Windows

Resolution

The problem is resolved by using another connection method to the server where the installation is taking place.

For example, if the installation is taking place on a virtual server such as VMWare use the Virtual Machine Console in the vSphere Client. Login to the image using the Virtual Machine Console and invoke the iPE setup.exe.
Once the installation has loaded correctly the Remote Desktop connection can be used to connect to the server and continue with the installation.
