Description

How to move WebStatistica's scheduled tasks from one TIBCO Statistica server to another ?

PREREQUISITES :
Administrator privileges on both Statistica Servers
Copy of the same system DSN database of Statistica installation to be used on both servers.

NOTE: It is not sufficient to have the same system view path i.e this procedure will not work when the configurations have been migrated using the Database migration utility. It would only work if the destination server is using the same or copy of the Statistica meta database used on the source server.

Resolution

1. Remote into the Source WebStatistica server as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Launch Task Scheduler (located in : Control Panel>>System and Security>>Administrative Tools)
3. Locate the WebStatistica task that needs to be exported into the new server in the Task Scheduler Library.
4. Right click on the task and select Export and save the xml file at any chosen location.

5.Remote into Destination server with administrator privileges.  Copy the xml to the destination server. Right click on Task Scheduler library and select "Import task" and choose the xml file that was copied over from Source server. Change any settings that you may want to change while importing the task - such as if you want a newer schedule or if Statistica is installed on a different drive, you may want to change the path to point to [Statistica Installation Folder]\WebStatistica]\sws_sche.exe. Click OK.

NOTE : If the scheduled task should be run as another specific user in WebStatistica, change the "When running the task, use the following user account" as shown below :

You may optionally logon to WebStatistica as the user the task was scheduled to run as or as an Administattor in WebStatistica and confirm that this task shows up under "Tools>>My Scheduled tasks" or Tools>>For Administrators>>Scheduled tasks (This is illustrated in the above .gif file).

6. The task has now been imported. You may run the task to run from Task scheduler and perform a sanity check to ensure that the task runs as expected. The results of the scheduled tasks will be located in Tools>> My Batch jobs or Tools>>For Administrators>>Batch jobs depending on the user logged into WebStatistica.
