Description

While creating the TDV data source inside Information Designer section, below error message gets displayed:

"The data source type 'Test_DataSource' is not supported.

Cannot connect to data source 'TDV', due to invalid configuration or that the data source is not running.

Database reported.

Error initializing data source with name 'test-connection': Cannot instantiate JDBC driver with class name cs.jdbc.driver.Composite Driver

Issue/Introduction

Error while connecting to the TDV data source:"Cannot instantiate JDBC driver with class name cs.jdbc.driver.Composite Driver"

Resolution

To resolve, copy the 'csjdbc.jar' driver file from the <TDV server Install>\apps\jdbc\lib  folder of the TIBCO Data Virtualization(TDV) Server to the  <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\custom-ext folder of the TIBCO Spotfire Server Installation (for Spotfire Server version 10.3 and higher) or <Spotfire Server>\tomcat\lib  folder for the previous Spotfire Server versions.

e.g copy from C:\Program Files\TIBCO\TDV Server 8.0\apps\jdbc\lib to C:\tibco\tss\10.9.0\tomcat\custom-ext

NOTE- For 10.3 and higher version of Spotfire Server, it may work if you copy the jar files to the <Spotfire Server>\tomcat\lib, but it is highly recommended to copy to the 'custom-ext' folder
