Description

When TIBCO iProcess Engine (iPE) is installed as a Node Cluster setup, the swadm, swutil utilities may not respond with data and may throw a blank response

This could be due to that server, where the command is executed cannot access the COM+ server configured for the node cluster. iPE uses COM+ events in windows machines. When the server that is configured to use the COM+ is unavailable, these commands cannot be executed. This would also prevent switching the slave to become a master through these command-line utilities.

Issue/Introduction

swadm and swutil commands may not respond when COM+ server is not available in a windows machine

Environment

All environments that run on Microsoft's Windows operating systems

Resolution

Access the registry key in the server, where the problem is experienced ->

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Staffware plc\Staffware Server\Nodes\<iPE_Node_Name>

Verify the Key string value for "IEL_EVENT_SERVER". Replace this with the machine name of the server that needs to be made the new master.

Save the changes. A restart of the box is normally not needed.

The command-line utilities should start working again, following the change.
