The installation information is missing or incorrect in "About Statistica" on a client/workstation, as below:




Causes:  

• The statinstinfo.xml file may have been modified.
• The statinstinfo.xml may have been deleted

This article discusses how to fix incorrect information on a client machine in the About Statistica. It should match the server information.

Windows operating systems only. On on CNET and Server/Enterprise installations only.

To fix this, following these steps:

1.  Determine from where the client/workstation was installed. If this is not known, usually opening the stat.lic in the Statistica application folder to determine the license server location, this will be the same server from which Statistica was installed.


  
2.  Access the Statistica server named in the pointer license file
3.  Go to the Statistica application folder, typically <server drive>:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica 13\ (for 32 installs, <server drive>:\Program Files (x86))\Statistica\Statistica 13\ )
4.  Copy the statinstinfo.xml from the server to the client/workstation, Desktop location preferred
5.  Paste the statinstinfo.xml from the Desktop location to the Statistica application folder, typically C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica 13\ (for 32 installs, <server drive>:\Program Files (x86))\Statistica\Statistica 13\ )
6.  Select "Replace the file in the destination" when prompted

The "About Statistica" information will now be correct.
