After an upgrade of Microsoft Excel, the StreamBase Excel Add-in is slow to start.
Excel takes a long time opening and a message is displayed at the bottom reported as "loading TIBCO StreamBase Add-In...". Some users report that VBA code associated with the Add-In is causing Excel to crash.
Resolution
This is corrected by disabling all Excel Add-Ins and then re-enabling them one at a time, confirming each is working. This resets the Add-In in Excel, restoring correct behavior.
To check for other problems, re-enable only the StreamBase Excel Add-in and confirm it is working. Then enable the other add-ins as needed.
This procedure is also useful for checking for and possibly correcting conflicts between different Excel add-ins.
The specific steps are:
In Excel, click the File tab, click Options, and then click the Add-Ins category. In the Manage box, click Excel Add-ins, and then click Go.
To disable: In the Add-Ins available box, deselect or unset the check box next to the add-in that you want to deactivate, and then click OK.
To enable: In the Add-Ins available box, select or set the check box next to the add-in that you want to activate, and then click OK.
