Description

In the ongoing drive to improve security at TIBCO, the company is in the process of removing the insecure FTP access to MFT.TIBCO.COM as of 7th October 2019. Access will still be available using either SFTP or FTPS. This may result in a few extra steps for some users if your z/OS host does not cater for one of the secure protocols

Resolution

Package the diagnostics as you currently do to provide ASCII text, or binary terse/XMT/XM1/XM2 formatted output.

The current list of ways to deliver diagnostic information to TIBCO is as follows.
  1. Download the data to a PC / Server and attach this downloaded data to the TIBCO case. This has not changed but may not work, or may be inconvenient and labour intensive, for multiple or large files.

  1. Download the data to a PC and FTP it to MFT.TIBCO.COM using a tool that does secure FTP, e.g. Filezilla or IBM File Transfer.  This should be relatively simple.

  1. FTP the data direct from z/OS to MFT.TIBCO.COM. While this is the most efficient way it may require some setup in AT/TLS or SSL. For customers who have not already set up this technology it may be quite a lot of work to implement and option 2) may be the better choice.
We would suggest that in the run up to removal of native FTP access, customers should attempt to place a small file on MFT.TIBCO.COM just to ensure they have an access path in to TIBCO in the event they have an urgent requirement to transfer files. Have the phrase IGNORE in the file name so we know it’s a test file.
