Description

In TIBCO Spotfire Analyst versions prior to 10.1, the  "Refresh Data" button in Edit > Data Table Properties had the options "With Prompt" and "Without Prompt":

Whereas starting in version TIBCO Spotfire Analyst 10.1, the above options in Data > Data Table Properties have been replaced with the "Reload Data" button with options "Linked data" and "All data":

So how to refresh data with prompt as the options have changed?

Resolution

This change was made because the new Data Canvas has the ability to directly modify the data settings for a data table. See Data Canvas for more details.

But in case the same prompt is required in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst versions 10.1 and higher, you can perform the following steps:
  1. Go to Data > Data Table Properties.
  2. In the Data Table Properties window, select the General tab. Now select the checkbox option "Prompt for new settings before loading" option.
  3. Then click the "Reload Data" button. You can select to either reload Linked data only, which reloads all linked data sources with the data loading settings Always new data or New data when possible, or All data which reloads all sources that are possible to reload, including Stored data and Embedded data (when applicable).
If you now reload the data table, a prompt will appear to see the import settings of the data. After that, if you do not need to see the prompt any longer (this was a one time change), you can uncheck "Prompt for new settings before loading" option and save again to revert to the previous behavior.
