While creating a new Connection for Dynamics NAV by using the OData Service URL, the connection failed with the following error:

Verify that the associated connection information is valid and that you have access to this OData service.
The following exception message was returned from the OData service: The user is not authorized to use this resource.
 

The issue was caused by an incorrect setting in the Dynamics NAV OData Web Service instance. There is a property ‘Credential type’ for the Dynamics NAV OData Web Service instance, that is normally set to ‘Windows’, but must be set to ‘Username’.

 

1. In Dynamics NAV, create a new Dynamics NAV OData Web Service instance with the Credential Type set to UserName.
2. Make sure the new Dynamics NAV OData Web Service instance is created to run with the same user as the original instance.
3. Use the new OData Service URL associated with the new instance in the TIBCO Scribe®  Online Connection Configuration, such as, http://geas67.geas.nl:7078/DynamicsNAV80SOL/OData/.
