Description

While accessing a file in the Web Player that is fetching data from a network shared path, the following error might be seen even though the web player configuration changes have been made already to allow the network shared path data access.
=====
The data table is missing or has been replaced
=====

Environment

All supported environments

Resolution

Such issue can be seen if the path was used to import the data table from a network shared path was a local path instead of a UNC path. The path of the data source should be checked from the Spotfire Analyst by opening the analysis file and following the steps below.
=====
- Click "Edit==>Data Table Properties" for versions prior to Spotfire 10. For Spotfire 10 and above, select "Data==>Data Table Properties"
- Select the data table being accessed from the network shared path
- Click "Source information"
=====
If the location shown here is a local path, as below, the data table will need to be replaced.

User-added image

The data table can be replaced using "File==>Replace Data Table" option and the path used while adding the data table must be a UNC path this time, in the format "\\servername\path".
